Just because someone has a reputation for winning lots of shows, and having beautiful winning dogs does not make them a responsible breeder dog. Wondering what makes a “responsible breeder dog”? Well I have my own opinion, but perhaps you will get a better idea if you look at some samples from the codes of ethics of various breeder dog clubs. I think some are terrific, I think some are worthless, and there are a few that are so pitiful I would not include them at all. A Code of Ethics is a slippery concept. Responsible breeder should at least love their dog with their heart. Because violence isn’t only prohibited for people, but also for animals. Having a good manners is good for you, because sometimes dog follow the manners from the owners itself. You need to learn the risk of becoming the breeder dog rather than the advantages to become a good dog breeder.
If you want a guide how to be a good breeder dog, just find it on the forum on the internet, usually they explain it, or just join with the breeder dog club like AKC, or something. You will learn a lot there. Make sure you know the law how to breed a dog, because some country has the law itself. For instance if you want to sell your dog, make sure that you have the contract, and explain to the buyers the history of the dog you are about to sell, so the buyer will not disappointed when they are buying your dog and become breeds dog, try to answer their question about the dog, so they will understand that become a breeder dog is not as easy as they think. The worst case is if the buyers don’t have qualification to become a good dog breeder, they will neglect the dog and make their dog suffer even more.
