German Short Hair Dog – Temperament & Personality

German short hair dog is a wonderful dog. They are excellent in every condition, German short hair dog is tough. The energetic German Short hair dog is the result of years of careful crossing of Spanish Pointers, local German tracking hounds and, eventually, English Foxhounds. These crossings have resulted in the ideal all purpose dog which is an adaptable pointer and retriever all in one bundle. Developed in Germany. German short hair dog has great intelligent and good temperament.

German short hair dog were officially recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1930 and the first specialty showed sponsored by the German short hair dog parent club was held in 1941 in Chicago. The breed has had some success as a show dog and in 2005 a German Short hair dog won Best in Show at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show–an impressive achievement for any large breed dog.

German short hair dog is very active and take great pleasure in joining in games and activities with a family of older children. They excel at field trials, agility, obedience and hunting. Built for speed and endurance they are on the large side of medium sized. Somehow, they are still childish if you pamper your German short hair dog to much.

They make good watch dogs without being overly aggressive or noisy. The German short hair dog has a well-balanced symmetry and aristocratic bearing. He has a lot of strength and stamina, is intelligent and full of energy. German short hair dog has clean lines, a deep chest, powerful back and strong quarters with good dense bone, well-muscled and with a look of nobility. If you have this breed, you will not be dissappointed by him, they will make a good atmosphere in your house and family.
