Crate training is a very basic principle based on centuries-old instincts in dogs. Dogs are den animals, they like to have a secure, clean, semi-darkened nesting space, away from all other distractions, and elimination areas. You mustn’t think that the crate training is a punishment for your dog. Because it will keep your dog feel safe when they are inside the crate for training.

Advantage for crate training is you can secure environment for your dog when you can not be watching her. Once dogs are used to the crate, they start to view as their “den” and feel comforted by the surrounding walls. Beside if there are any family visits, you can do crate training for your dog so your dog will not bother your family visit, because some people area afraid to the dog or at least they don’t like to be licked by the dog. Other is you want to control young puppies who don’t have control over their bladder and bowels yet. Beside if you going for a while and you don’t want to let your dog running around the room, you can do crate training for your dog.

The disadvantage from crate training is if your dog feeling uncomfortable and boring they will struggle to rush out, and it is annoying you. Beside if you are do crate training to long for your dog, once they go out, the will go berserk and running around your home, scaring people or other animals around.

For some suggestion, if you have some breeds of dog, it is wise if at first you see their habit, if they look friendly, you can give them same crate, but they look sometimes like an enemy, maybe you should separate their crate training program. Once you are past the first two or three nights, both you and your puppy should be comfortable with the crate training program, and your nights will be easier. It won’t be long before your pup is noticeably alerting you that he has to go outside.
