Germain Pointer

Germain pointer also called german pointer by people. There are 3 kinds of germain pointer: shorthaired germain pointer, longhaired germain pointer, and wirehaired germain pointer. For the profile about germain pointer, here I have some articles:

Height:

Females: 21 – 23 inches; Males: 23 – 26 inches

Weight:

Females: 40 – 60 lbs; Males: 55 – 70 lbs

Colors:

Germain pointer usually has duo color, Solid liver, liver and white spotted, liver and white spotted and ticked; liver and white ticked, the same variations with black instead of liver, but not tricolor.

Temperament:

Germain pointer is energetic, highly intelligent, and friendly. These dogs may be reserved with strangers but they are loyal, protective, devoted to their families, and eager to please their master. They love human company, hate being isolated, and love all family members, especially children.

Characteristic:

There are two kinds of Germain Pointer, the short-haired and the wired-haired/long-haired pointers. The short-haired pointers sport a double coat of flat coarse hair that is thick and very resilient to the water. The long-haired pointers have thick undercoats that has long and coarse wire-like hair very resilient to water and seasonal changes. Both of them has almost same temperament.

Care and Exercise:

Minimum grooming of the Germain pointer should consist of brushing with a firm bristle brush and bathing only when necessary. Germain pointers need plenty of vigorous exercise to keep in shape, and any prospective owners should be well aware of this. They may become destructive if tired or bored

Living Environment:

Germain pointer is generally unsuited for city life as they are not the type of breed to curl up in front of the fireplace all day, they need activity that a hunter can provide. A house with a fenced yard is mandatory. The owners of germain pointer should be active too.

Live span:

14 – 16 years
