English Pointer Dog

When you are hearing English pointer dog, this type of breed is agile and intelligent type. English pointer dog are origin from English, but their ancestor comes from Spanish, according to the Mini-Atlas of Dog Breeds the German pointer dog is considered a Schweisshund and is likely from a cross of between the Spanish Pointer, English Foxhounds, and a variety of German Scenthounds. He is range from 23 – 25 inches high, and 55 – 70 pounds. Their lineage is more difficult to trace.

The English Pointer is also considered to be of “Spanish Extraction,” but bred into a lighter and more refined dog than the Spanish Pointer. They are acknowledged to be exceptional gun dog and are from 22 – 27 inches high, and 42 – 67 pounds. He is usually more muscular and has a desire to hunt and an exceptional nose. Self and tri-colors occur and are accepted. The tail here is shown to be about 4-5 inches and docked.

German pointer dog: Efficient and no-nonsense, like his taut coat, the Shorthair is an invincible field dog, with a subtle nose and the ability to work on body of water or land. As a comrade, he’s keen and easily trained in addition to being affectionate and approachable.

English Pointer dog: “Pointers are famous for their even and kind dispositions. The breed’s bearing is decidedly aristocratic. In intelligence and trainability, he and owners at the same time stick their noses way out to point his being second to none.”

The average life span for a Pointer is between thirteen and fourteen years, while some do live beyond the age of fifteen. While some families do enjoy keeping Pointer’s as pets, these dogs require a large amount of exercise and are definitely not an apartment dogs.
