If you are a hunter, duck dog is very important for you, they will help you with your hunting, tracking your prey and pin point them. Duck dog are very helpful for you, they will raise one of their foot, and their tail. Duck dog just focusing to the target, they still focus although you bother them. Before choosing the right duck dog for you, there are some advice from me:

1. You need to pick a breed with hunting ability, Great duck dog breeds include German pointer, Labrador retriever, English setter, Irish setter and Hungarian Vizsla.

2. Train your dog not to be gun-shy. Many puppies and untrained dogs are startled by the sound of gunfire. You need to train your duck dog so they won’t be bother by the gunshot. simply take two pieces of 2×4 and clap them together, then immediately give your dog a treat. Repeat every ten minutes. You have to train at least once a day.

3. Begin integrating the training dummy into your training sessions. A training dummy is simply a canvas cylinder, available at most pet supply stores. But hunting ability is mostly have by duck dog like pointer, Labrador retriever, etc.

4. Think of the hunting process as three commands: hold, carry, and release. To do that you need to train your duck dog regularly for everyday, so their instinct will increase.

5. Take your dog hunting for real-life experience. The first time you take your dog hunting, go by yourself instead of with your hunting buddies. This will make your duck dog experience both in home or in the field.

To make your duck dog still productive and doing their job perfectly, you need to give them extra treatment and healthy food for your duck dog. These cost is expensive, you need a lot of money and time to treat your dog if you want a perfect result. But for another option, just call a dog trainer to train your duck dog everyday.
