The ancestor from pointer type is originally from spain, also called spanish pointer. But from war in 1713. Pointer divided into two major group. There are English pointer and German Pointer. German pointer itself has 3 types: shorthaired, longhaired, or wirehaired.
And german shorthaired pointer is a famous dog in pointer type. And german shorthaired pointer also favourited by some people, because it is easier to wash his hair and it this shorthaired type is fit for people who has allergic to the fur or hair. And german shorthaired pointer has good instinct and their smell is sharp. While people today are used to the sight of a dog performing a number of different tasks, like watchdog, therapy dog, companion and participant in a number of organized canine competitions, and among other things. And German pointer dog is good for this task, since they are strong and agile in a lot of condition.
German shorthaired pointer breed of large sporting dog developed in Germany in the mid-19th cent. It stands about 23 in. (58 cm) high at the shoulder and weighs about 60 lbs (27 kg). Its dense coat of short hair is hard to the touch and is colored solid liver or liver spotted or ticked with white. And german shorthaired pointer usually used for hunt both waterflow and upland game birds, beside they can trail such small animals like rabbits and opossums.
All Pointers enjoy being part of the family as well as enjoying all of the comforts home life has to offer. They are good with children and love to play with them all day long. It is also become a good watch dog and protect their domain. And german shorthaired pointer will bark when they are see unusuall thing or unordinary thing. So it is also good to become alarm for your home.
